Items I DO NOT need for school nor home

calligraphy pens
colored pencils
crayons
glue sticks
markers
Post- It notes
sharpies
writing pens
writing pencils

There maybe some other items I may not need, but can not think of right now. It's rather nice to know what you don't need to buy for the upcoming school year.

Using the Flip

If you're wondering what I'm talking about, check this out.

It. is. easy. Well, at least this one was. What it really is, at least to my understanding is a mini camcorder. However, for a mini camcorder, it can shoot up to 120 minutes of video, not too shabby. I'm practicing my skills at using this type of camcorder as we're going to have make technology portfolios for school this year. I already have some ideas as to how I'm going to use mine. There are some out there that you can make DVDs from the videos taken on the Flip. Not sure if I can do that with this one, but we'll see. It'll certainly be a fun addition to my classroom this year.

Hunting Island

The HI Lighthouse
Another of the Lighthouse
(this is my favorite picture!) Some type of crab
The HI Lighthouse from the beach.
Our "sand people"

Last Wednesday, my friend, Meredith (also a fellow PC alum), her girls, and I took off to Hunting Island for the afternoon. Being that it had been a while since I 'd been to the island, I welcomed the chance to go and relax, in addition to catching up. It was cloudy;however, the sun did come out for a few minutes. Saw a couple sand sharks and tried to take a pic, but they had other plans.

Self Portraits

Come visit...

Coming into the village
A pretty scene across the water
One of the bridges
This is the bridge you drive across
upon entering the village.
A tree of Ibises
A cute chapel
Joggling Board
Wilson Ruins
Very interesting history about the Wilsons
The Inn- VERY nice
Pet Cemetery - I think these were the Wilsons' pets
Rita's Market
The week before last, I took a trip to Palmetto Bluff. Had only been once before, but it was dark; so I didn't see much. Kind of reminds me of a Beatrix Potter or Norman Rockwell village. Over all, it's very quaint.

Fourth of July!

Some pre-fireworks pictures
Fireworks!

Oh say can you see. By the dawn's early light. What so proudly we hail. At the twlight's last gleaming. Whose bright stripes and bright stars................

What a fun and enjoyable evening. We met a couple from Sussex, England.
